Tauriel is of course a skilled fighter and scout quite comfy running around through dangerous forests. She is not a great rider so she will have a small learning curve in order to learn how to ride a horse.
I imagine she does mundane tasks alright like lighting a fire and possibly cooking but these are not things she is good at.
If needs be, she can hunt while they are traveling but she might make a better scout or rear guard.
